Italy's Daughter is a gripping historical fiction that transports readers to Nazi occupied Italy to industrial Turin to the U.S.A. This captivating tale explores themes of love, tradition, and resilience, making it a must-read for those who cherish family sagas.
Cheryl Lehman just completed her first novel of historical fiction; Italy’s Daughter.
The book is a sprawling family saga, spanning over twenty years and two continents, about the enduring power of love, the weight of tradition, and the search for happiness against all odds.
"On numerous visits with my Italian girlfriend, I learned about the bombing of San Pietro Infini, Italy during the Nazi occupation in 1943. It was such an interesting story I told her she should write about it. Her reply to me was, 'You do it.' As a former journalist and avid reader, I said, "Why not?"
California-born at the close of WWII, Cheryl's upbringing spanned the 1950s and ‘60s in a Los Angeles suburb. Her ethnically diverse family, with several religions embodied multiculturalism long before its widespread acceptance, providing her with an open-minded perspective. Her parents' influence shaped her love for country, politics, history, books, music, films, and cats and dogs.
Cheryl lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and two Pomeranians. She is already working on her next book about Ukraine.
